Melan-A/MART-1 Antibody (A103) Summary
| Immunogen |
Recombinant protein corresponding to human melan-A.
|
| Specificity |
NB100-65753 recognizes the recently identified Melan-A/MART-1 which is a melanocyte differentiation marker. Clone A103 has been reported to be of value in the differential diagnosis of melanocytic tumours and for the recognition of perivascular epithelioid tumours. Clone A103 has been reported to be of diagnostic importance for differentiating adrenal cortical tumours from other tumours.

Background
MelanA or MART1 (Melanoma Antigen Recognized by T cells) or is a newly identified melanocyte differentiation antigen recognized by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Seven other melanoma associated antigens recognized by autologous cytotoxic T cells include MAGE1, MAGE3, tyrosinase, gp100, gp75, BAGE1, and GAGE1.
