Product: Midodrine (hydrochloride)

Clathrin light chain Antibody (CON.1) Summary

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 23-44 of Cow Clathrin Light Chain.
Localization
Cell Membrane and Cytoplasmic
Specificity
Monoclonal Anti-Clathrin Light Chain reacts specifically with the clathrin light chain. The epitope recognized by the antibody resides within amino acids 23-44 of bovine clathrin light chains, LCa and LCb. This region is not involved in heavy chain binding, and is completely conserved in all mammals. The product is useful in immunoblotting 2-4 (two doublets at 25-36 kDa, a doublet at approximately 56 kDa, and possibly also additional lower and higher molecular weight bands), immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry (4% paraformaldehyde- 0.5% Triton X-100 fixation), and immunoaffinity purification. Cross-reactivity has been observed with human, bovine, rat, mouse, and yeast.

Background

Clathrin is a large, soluble protein composed of heavy and light chains. It functions as the main structural component of the lattice-type cytoplasmic face of coated pits and vesicles which entrap specific macromolecules during receptor-mediated endocytosis. This gene encodes one of two clathrin light chain proteins which are believed to function as regulatory elements. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) lacks alternate in-frame exons, compared to variant 2, resulting in a shorter protein (isoform a), compared to isoform b. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additional publications.
